Foscarini Small Cage Suspension Lamp in Black by Diesel
About the Item
It has an “underground” origin in the real sense of the word. It is inspired by the lamps of miners and workers, protected by a metal cage which in cage becomes a decorative element The contrast between the refined blown glass diffuser and the external cage is enhanced and rendered even more surprising by the irregularities due to the hand-crafting of the steel. In the suspension lamp version, it is available with a fashion black diffuser, to which a black metal cage is applied.
It casts an intense beam of light downwards, which draws the attention on a table, a cabinet or a well-defined area. In the black version, it also diffuses a soft glow into space. When the lamp is turned off, the color of the glass is in block and the glossy surface reflects the geometric shapes of the cage; when it is turned on its behavior changes depending on the color and on the surface treatment of the diffuser. The color of the black blown glass becomes warmer.
