A beautifully veined French Art Deco alabaster chandelier with ever-changing natural stone patterns and elegant brass detailing.
Elegant French Art Deco three-light pendant chandelier crafted in alabaster and brass, France, circa 1920.
This refined suspension light features a broad alabaster bowl distinguished by exceptionally expressive natural veining. Rather than presenting a uniform appearance, the stone reveals continuously shifting patterns from different angles—soft, cloudy transitions on one side and stronger dark veining on another—giving the chandelier a dynamic and highly decorative presence.
When illuminated, the alabaster develops a warm, atmospheric glow that highlights the layered character of the stone and reveals subtle depth throughout the surface. The effect feels organic and almost painterly, making each viewing angle slightly different from the next.
The bowl is suspended from elegant brass chains and decorative brass fasteners and completed with a matching alabaster canopy, creating a balanced composition characteristic of French Art Deco lighting from the early twentieth century.
Fitted with three new porcelain sockets for E27 (E26) size light bulbs.

Condition
