French Art Deco Frosted Glass Pendant by David Guéron, 1930s

A 1930s French Art Deco pendant signed Degué. The pendant is centered by a frosted glass shade, expertly molded into a softly contoured form that diffuses light with a muted, atmospheric glow. The glass surface, satin-smooth and gently opaque, tempers illumination while suspended from metal supports. When lit, the shade emits an even, velvety light. Degué was the Parisian art glass firm founded by David Guéron (1892–1950), a Turkish-born French entrepreneur and central figure of Art Deco glass. Established in 1926, the workshop produced lighting and decorative objects defined by bold geometry, layered glass, and experimental surface treatments, with works typically signed Degué. Widely commissioned for cinemas, ocean liners, and modernist interiors—including the French liner Normandie—Degué became a benchmark of interwar French decorative arts. Condition: In great vintage condition. Light patina to the metal consistent with age and use. This pendant has has been professionally rewired by our team of restorationists with a new mounting bracket and hanging hardware. Signed Degué. Accepts four E12 candelabra base light bulbs.
