German Early Modern Pendant Attributed to Peter Behrens

About the Item

Pendant / fixture in milk glass attributed to Peter Behrens for AEG. Behrens was the visionary creative director for German Industrial giant AEG and the force behind the Deutsche Werkstatten (1907) and subsequently led to the formation of the Bauhaus (1919) by Behrens student, Walter Gropius. The Bauhaus was one of the early forerunners of the modern movement. Height of fixture alone is 23". Piece can flush mount.

Peter Behrens, (14 April 1868 – 27 February 1940) was a leading German architect, graphic and industrial designer, best known for his early pioneering AEG Turbine Hall in Berlin in 1909.
