About the Item

Hollywood Regency and Palm Beach Regency style Scallop Shell waterfall chandelier, Italy, 1960s. The whole pendant light is made of pink Scallop Shell leaded with golden brass in the shape of a big strawberry or a Fairy Tale style lantern. There are six concentric crowns on its lower part, and an upper dome where the lamp holder is located. All the parts are joined by gold metal rings. Gold chrome metal ceiling trim. Due to the artisanal and hand-crafted manufacture, small variations in size and asymmetries can be seen throughout the piece, which gives it personality and exclusivity. French Riviera, Boho Chic, Mid-Century Modern, Tiki, Bohemian and Miami style, very glamorous and decorative lamp. Very much in the style of Tiffany Studios' creations. Spring and Summer vibe. Timeless piece. These type of handmade lamps where very coveted in the 50s and 60s as a souvenir of the first large-scale commercial flights. These pieces also were made of mother-of-pearl (Placuna Placenta) and began to be imported to Europe at that time, becoming luxury items in many Western homes because of their exotic materials. This one is made of Shell Scallop, and its production was around Spain, Portugal and France at that time. Diffuser height: 45cm Diffuser diameter: 34cm Cable lenght: 200cm For one E27 bulb. Electrical installation renewed and fully operational, with its original brass lamp holder and new 200cm long white wire. LED compatible. Good condition, with slight signs of wear on the metal parts, and some deffects and repairs on the shells from the past (see last photos). Note: We always try to the fullest to respect and preserve as much as possible all the original elements of each piece (wiring, lampshade, finishes...) so as not to alter the original aesthetics and so that they can continue to have another life with their intact soul. That is why sometimes certain elements can present wear and tear, but they are part of the life of each piece, always providing a very pleasant patina.
