Large Italian 1920s Crystal Gilt Metal Eight-Light Chandelier with Scrolled Arms
About the Item
This large Italian gilt metal and crystal eight-light chandelier from the early 20th century features a cup-shaped central shaft with a hanging crystal sphere from which emerge crystal-beaded C-scrolled arms arranged on two levels. The upper arms, branching out to form double S-scrolled arms joined by beaded crystal garlands and ending with rosette and pear-shaped crystal pendants, support the inverted stretched C-scrolled arms draped with crystal garlands surrounding the corolla-shaped canopy and ending with kite-shaped pendants. The lower arms branch out in a similar fashion to support eight crystal corolla-shaped drip pans, with new wax sleeves with crystal garlands and drop-shaped pendants. This elegant Italian crystal chandelier circa 1920, which has been recently rewired, would turn any room into a captivating, magical setting.
