Large Max Bill Chandelier White Sputnik Six Light Globe Glass Lamp Switzerland
About the Item
An early large sputnik chandelier by Max Bill, manufactured in Switzerland, circa 1955-1960, possibly by Temde Leuchten. This rare chandelier is made of white / off-white enameled wood and metal. It has a tulip shape aluminium canopy with a still remaining paper label "Made in Switzerland" and six white satin globe glasses. This stunning chandelier takes six E14 standard screw bulbs to illuminate. The wiring is perfect so it is in fine working condition and ready to use. There are two small white overpainted areas at the wooden part which are only visible by a close inspection, see detailed pictures, otherwise it stays in a very good original vintage condition. It has a width of 60 cm / 23.62 inches and it is 55 cm / 21.65 inches tall. This beauty is an eye-catcher and a perfect addition to Saarinen and Knoll furniture. It is an upgrade for any Mid-Century Modern or stylish interior. When illuminated or unlit, it provides a strong statement.
