Louis XVI Brass Round Lantern with Rams Heads and Chain Swags
About the Item
A large neoclassical hall lantern of fine design and execution in the Louis XVI taste. Convex glass panels are set within heavy cast brass details include a pierced brass gallery base with four finials supporting square fluted vertical supports surmounted by delicate ram's head designs with double swags of ball chain. The four-light candelabra is connected by a sphere to the body of the glazed lantern by four S-curve supports topped by plume finials, France, circa 1900.
