"Night Club" Chandelier by Nanny Still for Massive, Late 1960s

About the Item

Designed by Finnish designer Nanny Still McKinney, this Mid-Century chandelier was produced by the Val Saint Lambert Glass Factory for Belgian lighting manufacturer Massive in the late 1960s to early 1970s. Six stalactite-form glass shades in teal, turquoise, lime green, olive green, periwinkle blue, and blush pink hang at varied lengths from a central dark metal canopy. Each shade is secured within a hand-forged, brown enameled iron cradle ring connected by black cord suspension. The shades feature a segmented, tapered profile with a pointed downward tip — a form closely associated with Still's glass vocabulary of this period. The chandelier is in original condition; the iron hardware shows minor oxidation consistent with age, and one glass shade has a fine crack.
