Pair of “Imprisoned Glass” pendant lamps from the renowned Mexican modernist workshop of Feders. Designed by Mexico City artisan Filipe Derflinger with a metal frame encasing the amber yellow blown glass.
Feders and Derrflingher received accolades when their barware was sourced by Alexander Girard for use in the New York restaurant, renowned for his groundbreaking design, the La Fonda del Sol. In a 1964 a Popular Mechanics feature about the La Fonda del Sol and their use of Feders barware, Felipe's surname is spelled Derflingher, today an alternative Delfinger spelling has emerged.
These are wired as a pair of swag lamps each with an approximate 12 foot long chain which can be easily shorted to any length for installation as ceiling mounted pendant lamps.
