Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Bronze, Ormolu and Copper Lanterns
About the Item
A striking pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze, ormolu and copper lanterns. Each lantern displays a bottom mottled ormolu band with three most decorative ormolu bands. The curved glass windows are framed within patinated bronze trim and a door to access the light bulb. Above a most decorative pierced ormolu band are finely chased patinated bronze pierced palmettes. The striking pierced copper top crown was once used to disperse the heat from candles.
