Swedish Black & Gilt Bronze Eagle Empire Chandelier, Early 1800's
About the Item
An Empire-style, black and gold chandelier made in Sweden circa 1830. In a bowl-form with 5 candle-style lights with finely cast, eagle head mounts. The chain, with circle and diamond links, adds a pleasing geometry to the piece. It's further decorated with a torch in the center, acanthus leaves, and artichoke detailing- all gilded bronze. Recently restored with enhanced original finish and rewiring. 47" height x 25" diameter.
