About the Item

Good size Art Nouveau collectible by iron-worker and artist, Alberic Plettinck (1879-1957). This forged in fire work of art is by one of the greats in this field and from this period. Work by this renowned, Belgian artist and blacksmith only seldomly is offered anywhere in the world, because most of his work can be found in (and thus is attached to) public buildings such as churches and governmental buildings. Some of Plettincks work can be found in databases on the web, but only very little there also. This good size and great looking lantern is in excellent and original condition. It comes with the signature on one of the sides (image 3) and the beautiful, original glass panels are all there and in excellent condition also. We found this rare Art Nouveau pendant without, but we will provide a matching canopy of the period. The detail in the hand-forged iron work such as the veins in the leafs are absolutely breath taking. Anyone who has ever seen wrought iron antiques will immediately recognize these amazing details as out of the ordinary.
