Vintage Svend Aage Holm Sørensen for Holm Sørensen & Co pendent chandelier lamp model 6395.
Known as the onion this classic piece of brutalist lighting is made up of two layers of torch cut brass.
The Danish designer Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen (1913-2004) possessed as an artist a very good understanding of the potentials of materials, and he understood how to innovate these. To this day, Holm-Sørensen's style as a designer addresses not only the Nordic market, but also the international interest in the designer's distinctive and experimental expression.
Sven Aage was known for being able to draw sketches on almost everything: envelopes, theater programs, even tram tickets he used to sketch his visions and get ideas from the imagination to the paper. This imagination, wealth of ideas and talent made Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen an international star in design, and gave him a significant role in Danish as well as international design history

Additions or alterations made to the original: The lamp has been rewired with a twisted cloth cable and grounded Originally it was not grounded. Wear consistent with age and use. These lamps do have signs of being over 50 years old as do all vintage and antique items but are in great condition for their age.
