About the Item
Pedestal lamp by Bill Curry for his company, Design Line. The light in the top segment illuminates the open middle section and produces light above. The top surface can also be used for display. Designed and manufactured in El Segundo, CA in the 1960s. This is a rare piece and documented in the Design Line catalog.
After serving in the US Navy, Bill Curry attended and received a degree at Art Center in Pasadena. He was an artist, graphic designer, worked in advertising and was an accomplished industrial designer. He founded Design Line, Incorporated in El Segundo in 1963 with his wife Jacquelyn.
Bill Curry's work was selected for multiple California Design exhibitions at the Pasadena Museum of Art.
