Trinh candlestick, made by Marion Mezenge in 2020, is part of the Astérie series. It is made of oiled brass, the foot and bobèche are patinated, with a chiseled reflector. Once graduated from Boulle school, where she spent six years, Marion Mezenge focused on the design and production of tailor-made lighting for parisian architects and decorators. She was also a project guide within the Fab-lab Techshop-les ateliers Leroy Merlin in Paris. In addition to her various functions, Marion Mezenge founded, alogside three designers, the Edward Tisson association, a collective and multidisciplinary workshop in which craftsmanship and design converge. Marion Mezenge’s creations often arise from questioning, from an observation that leads her to develop a collection in response to it. Every pieces are designed and manufactured by herself in her own workshop. Marion Mezenge also enjoys collaborating with craftsmen skills when this supports the story of the project. Astérie collection was made with a skater for the colors of the Trinh and Ernest candlesticks, as well as a chaser for Trinh reflector. Her approach to creation is personal and empirical. It requires constant feedback between the workshop, the material and the drawing with, always in common thread, the story that is being created.
