About the Item

Important pair of lamps made by Michel Boyer for the french Embassy in Brazil. Verre Lumière Edition. Souhaitant faire de sa représentation à Brasilia une "opération vitrine", le Ministère des Affaires étrangères décide de ne pas reprendre le mobilier de la Résidence de France à Rio de Janeiro mais de confier la décoration intérieure à Michel Boyer, alors architecte d’intérieur prometteur, diplômé des Arts décoratifs. Il dessine tout le mobilier et les luminaires de la Résidence en s’inspirant, dit-il, de l’œuvre d’Oscar Niemeyer et du bâtiment conçu par Guillermo Jullian.
