"Birillo" floor lamp by Carlo Nason, manufactured by AV Mazzega, 1970s

About the Item

A stunning "Birillo" floor lamp made of Murano glass, designed by the renowned Italian designer Carlo Nason for the AV Mazzega glassworks in the 1970s. This iconic lamp stands out for its stacked modular structure, composed of geometric elements made of coated blown glass—a hallmark of the pop and futuristic style of that decade. It features multiple, separate light sources controlled by 4 switches. When turned on, the sections create a striking, iridescent play of colors. The structure is made entirely of Murano art glass, held together by chrome-plated steel metal bands. The cord, plug, and switch are still the originals; we have verified that the system is working properly. Overall condition: very good, with all glass completely intact.
