A Large Lantern Floorlamp by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte
About the Item
A large standing lantern mounted on stand in bronze and glass by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte, Italy, circa 1938. The lantern with removable top features a flaired case with bronze criss-cross diamond over glass. A similar lantern-form floor lamp can be seen in a 1938 photograph of the interior of the new Fontana Arte boutique in Rome as illustrated in Laura Falconi's book, "Fonatana Arte: Una Storia Transparente" Milan, 1998.
This piece came from the Sotheby's Sale of Gordon Watson, May 2006.
