Mid-Century Modern Bamboo & Rattan Floor Lamp by Louis Sognot, France 1960s
About the Item
A bamboo floor lamp designed by Louis Sognot in France during the 1960s.
The six bamboo poles serve as the outer framework for the cream-coloured linen lampshade. The lampshade is held in place by cotton loops attached to each of the six bamboo poles as well as the lower and upper woven rattan ring. Inside the cylindrical lampshade is a single light bulb which provides a warm and pleasent light.
The wooden “skeleton" ensures that all materials are shown to equal advantage, creating a harmonious composition between the bamboo and fabric.
However there appears to have been a repair at one point on the lower ring (see detailed photo).
Lovely vintage condition. 1 E14 socket. Delivery without bulb.

This is an original piece and has lived a life before. Therefore it will show signs of wear and patina, which gives the lamp its unique and charming look.
Works with 220V and 110V. Function of the lamp has been tested and classified as fully functional.
As with any vintage electrical equipment, it is advisable to have it checked by a qualified electrician.
