Swedish Modern floor lamp, brass & teak, Sweden, 1930s

About the Item

A beautiful floor lamp, manufactured in Sweden by an as yet unidentified maker during the 1930s. The lamp features a circular teak base resting on four solid brass feet, supporting a slender brass stem partially clad in teak veneer. The stem incorporates a height-adjustable mechanism, allowing the lamp to be adapted to different settings. Two elegantly curved, organically shaped brass arms extend from the stem, each fitted with a pleated textile lampshade and its own individual on/off switch. The warm combination of teak, brass and softly diffused light creates a refined expression that is characteristic of Scandinavian design from the period.
