Large Poliarte Ceiling Lamp by Albano Poli Italy 1970's in Muti Color Glass
About the Item
Large ceiling lamp by Albano Poli for Poliarte in Verona, Italy, circa 1975. The lamp radiates in geometric segments of alternating translucent and coloured hand chipped glass creating a circular relief to break the light, in amber, red, orange, peach and green set in a heavy hand forged iron frame. The lamp is supported by a handcrafted centre piece holding 6 bulbs to spread an even light and is secured hand crafted gilded centre knob. The chandelier is designed to be flush mount . The Moderns have designed a custom made extension creating a 50 cm drop down. This can be removed and is optional depending on the preference.
Height Flush Mount without extension is 20 cm
Height with extension is 70 cm
Poliarte was founded by the artist Albano Poli (B 1935) in 1953, initially as a producer of exceptional stained glass, moving onto create some of the most sought after and celebrated lighting designs of the 1960's and 1970's. Poli created jewels of light, sometimes rough and unpolished, sometimes refined and brilliant, but always exquisite and unique. With his craftsmanship and iconic sensibility, this light is a wonderful statement representing the work of Alberto Poli at his very best.
