Pair of model 82400 glass flush mounts, design Gunnel Nyman, manufactured by Taito Oy, 1940s. Opaline glass shades, base and frame metal. Good vintage condition, patina consistent with age and use. The flush mounts are sold together as a set. The metal frame can be repainted by request. Gunnel Nyman was a Finnish designer best known for her pioneering work in glass design during the 1930s and 1940s. Working closely with Nuutajärvi Glassworks, she helped define the soft, organic aesthetic that became a hallmark of Finnish modernism. Nyman's lighting designs reflect the same qualities found in her glasswork: elegant forms, careful attention to light, and exceptional craftsmanship. Her fixtures often combine functional simplicity with sculptural beauty, creating a warm and refined atmosphere. Today, Gunnel Nyman's designs are highly sought after by collectors and remain important examples of early Scandinavian modern design.
