Rare Pair of Midcentury Modern French Holophane Flush Mounts 'emaille au four'
About the Item
For the collectors and interior designers.
They say that there is a first time for everything, but never had we expected to find an unused and rare pair of Holophane flush mounts from the midcentury modern era. The sockets of these Holophane ceiling lamps were not even screwed onto the galleries yet, they were in separate Holophane bags in the boxes. The galleries can simply be screwed onto your ceiling and the shades can be turned on afterward. Pressed into the aluminium rims you can see the F for 'fermé' (close) and the O for 'ouvrir' (open). By the way, the literal translation of 'emaille au four' is enamelled, but we think a better translations would be 'coated'. The combination of the smooth and pure white surface and the transparent, ripled parts makes these Holophane flush mounts an absolute joy to own and look at, both with the light switched on and off. The manner in which the light shines through these different surfaces, give these lights their aesthetic beauty and functional purpose. These stunning ceiling lights will arrive wired for safe and immediate usage in the country where they will be used and enjoyed.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. One of the aluminum rems has some scratching in a small area (see image 14 and 15), but that can hardly be seen when the flush mount is on the ceiling. It is however the reason why we priced these rare lights extra sharply.
