Antique Arts & Crafts Brass & Opaline Glass Pendant Lantern, c.1890.
This impressive and finely handcrafted lantern is a rare surviving example of late 19th-century Arts & Crafts design. Dating to the 1890s, the fixture combines honest materials with exceptional craftsmanship, resulting in a piece that is both decorative and enduring.
The lantern is crowned with a domed brass top, beneath which hangs a cylindrical body embellished with simple yet striking roundel decoration, a hallmark of the movement’s devotion to detail without excess.
