Barovier Large Pair of Murano Glass and Brass Flower Sconces, Italy 1940s

About the Item

Marvelous pair of Art Deco Murano sconces by Barovier. These gorgeous bellflower-shaped sconces were produced in Italy during the late 1940s. Six pieces available, all in fabulous condition with no chips or cracks. These highly decorative lights feature mouth-blown crystal bullicante glass shades in the shape of flowers, with vertical ribbing and elegant scalloped edges that beautifully diffuse the light. The shades are mounted on stepped solid brass arms and backplates, a distinctive element of Barovier’s refined early mid-century aesthetic. The quality of the glass is outstanding, a testament to the mastery of the Murano artisans of the time. When lit, the crystal bowls emit a warm, atmospheric glow, highlighting the clarity and texture of the glass. The sconces have been rewired and tested for use in the US, UK, and EU, and are fitted with standard E14 sockets. The brass has a beautiful warm golden patina that has not been polished to preserve its timeless charm and historical value. A standout set and a unique opportunity to add character and uniqueness to any Deco, mid-century, or contemporary interior project. Dimension (cm): Height: 21 Width: 21 Depth: 12,5
