Icon Bauhaus Wall Lamp Bormann Ugo Police Kandem 1930-1950 Black Enameled Metal

About the Item

Gorgeous Bauhaus icon swing arm wall light designed by Heinrich Siegfried Bormann, Germany, circa 1930. The wall-mounted tubular metal and black enameled lamp has a height adjustable lamp shade thanks to wiring and counterweight. The lamp shade itself which has a width of 18 cm / 7.09 inches, rests on an aluminum lamp fitting with switch. To change the direction of the light, the shade can be lifted and placed to the desired position by hand. The swivel arm can be positioned in multiple ways, so the light can be used as reading light or desk lamp. Originally manufactured and distributed by Koerting & Mathiesen Germany in the 1930s, this offered model is made a little later by the Italian Company Ugo Police, circa 1950s. The great wall light which has a maximum extension of 120 cm / 47.24 inches stays in fine working condition, so ready to use with minor characteristic wear consistent with age and use.
