About the Item

Large set of Onda wall sconces designed by Claude Salocchi for Lumenform in the 1960s. These sconces, available in four distinct variations, feature a metal backplate onto which a brick-shaped opaline glass diffuser is affixed. They come in two lengths, each accommodating an opaline diffuser with either a concave or convex face. The longer backplate is precisely double the length of the shorter one, providing excellent modular options for placement. We offer each wall sconce separately, displayed price is for one long one. The small ones are 50% off. When placing your order please indicate if you’d like a concave or convex piece. Claude Salocchi (1930–2012) was an Italian designer and architect known for his forward-thinking approach to industrial design. A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano, he collaborated with major Italian brands such as Sormani and Cinova, creating minimalist and functional furniture that reflected the spirit of modernism. Salocchi’s designs often balanced rational structure with poetic simplicity, emphasizing adaptability and human-centered living. Beyond design, he was deeply interested in social and environmental issues, exploring sustainable concepts long before they became mainstream. His work remains a reference in Italian design for its clarity, innovation, and timeless aesthetic vision. Lumenform is an Italian lighting company founded in the 1960s, known for its modern and architectural approach to light design. Based near Milan, the brand collaborated with prominent designers such as Claudio Salocchi, creating lamps that combined technological precision with refined aesthetics. Lumenform’s products are characterized by clean lines, functional elegance, and a focus on the interaction between light and space. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the company became a symbol of Italian craftsmanship and innovation in lighting design. Its creations remain highly regarded for their timeless quality and contribution to modern interior design.
