About the Item

Jugendstil brass glass vintage ceiling light / flushmount / ceiling lamp, which was designed by Otto Wagner, Vienna 1910 - 1912. Otto Wagner (1841-1918 ) was a famed Austrian architect and town planner with international standing around the fin de siècle. A rare original piece, designed for the tramway from the railway line between Vienna and Bratislava (formerly Pressburg) . This brass ceiling light has a matt glass dome shade which is to open with a hinge and a spring balancer mechanism. Fitted for 2 E 27 sockets and rewired Very good condition with beautiful brass patina Approximate measures: Diameter 30.5 cm Height 18 cm Lit.: Otto Wagner, möbel und Innenräume, P. Asenbaum, P.
