Pair Hand Carved Wood Silver Gilded Italian Wall Sconces
About the Item
Found in the collection of a well-traveled architect in Connecticut, these fine hand carved Italian wall sconces are top quality. The unusual form, with the downward pointing lights, is complemented by the original surface, consisting of a wonderfully scruffy whitewash over the silver gilding, with the olive and moss green ground color showing through in spots, and the base coat of gesso. Faded elegance at its best.
