Pair of Sconces by Flavio Poli for Seguso

About the Item

Pair of Sconces by Flavio Poli for Seguso, Italy, 1960s A sculptural and technically ambitious wall sconce by Flavio Poli for Seguso, the shade is a single piece of mouth-blown glass - a faceted, tapered outer shell enclosing three inner lobes formed within it, all blown together in one continuous act of glassmaking. The light source sits at the base, illuminating the inner lobes and outer shell simultaneously, the lobes glowing warmly against the smoky amber depth of the glass. The complexity of the form - structured on the outside, organic within - is inseparable from the craft that produced it. Unlit, it reads as a singular sculptural object. Lit, it reveals its inner composition. Rewired for U.S. standards. Each sconce accommodates one E12 socket; we recommend a maximum of 40W or LED equivalent. Priced and sold as a pair.
