Palatial Pair of French 19th Century Louis XV Style Giltwood Carved Wall Lights

An important and palatial pair of French 19th century Louis XV style giltwood carved six-light wall lights "Appliques" (Sconces), the six scrolled candle-arms emanating from a center medallion with a female mask and surmounted with musical instruments, acanthus and leaves, the top with a carved lion head holding a draped swagged tassel supporting the entire fixture, circa Paris, 1870.

width 31 inches (79 cm).

- Condition:Repaired: Touch-ups to gilt. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. An impressive pair of wall lights. The gilt has some old touch-ups and crackle. Some slight warp & restorations to the frame. Prior to installation the entire electrical wiring must be checked, verified and re-assembled by a licensed electrician.
