About the Item

PANDEAN, aluminum sconce, designed by Bent Karlby and produced by LYFA - an absolutely gorgeous design from 1970 - very attractive Danish Modern wall light in very good vintage condition! This wall lamp is made up by a polished aluminum "PAN flute" pipe with a rounded aluminum cover, and a matte yellow inner coating. The aluminum cover conceals the light bulb in the center of the pipe and is able to move up and down to allow you to adjust the flow of light to suit your needs. When this beautiful PANDEAN sconce is lit, the yellow inner becomes even more yellow and gives off a soft ambient illumination - and the open top and bottom, provides for good luminance in the up- and downwards directions. When idle it is a true scriptural piece of art - hanging on the wall. Endless uses in the stylish Modern home! In the late 1960s Bent Karlby created a series of Pan-themed lights, originally produced by LYFA and in the early 1970s for ASK Belysning. The Pan-themes series included the Pan-Opticon wall sconces (1968-1968), the Pantre pendants (1970), the Pan pendants (Plexiglas, 1971) - and this truely magnificent PANDEAN wall sconce with yellow inner that I have up for sale! An exceptional vintage collectible addition to any space. Please note that I also have a beautiful pair of Pantre pendants (with red inner) up for sale in the shop - please check the shop - I am happy to offer combined shipping if you are interested in more than one piece. Condition: Very good vintage condition with a few superficial marks in the aluminum cover - please see the photos! Original, but rewired with 1,5 m (4' 11.1") white plastic cord with on/off switch placed at convenient height and Euro style plug - which is easily changed to your specific plug. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective bag. Light source: One bulb, Edison screw-fitting (E27/26) Max. 60 Watt each.
