About the Item
Two Rare Pairs of French Mid-Century Modern plaster or white terracotta sconces in the style of Alberto and Diego Giacometti for Jean Michel Frank. These unique, elegant pieces integrate surrealist, neo-baroque and modern influences and feature acanthus leaf decoration stylized to form the image of a face. Alberto and Diego Giacometti produced pieces for Jean Michel Frank that had a similar mysterious and exotic quality that these pieces possess. The light source is contained within the pocket and it is designed to illuminate the wall above the sconce.
