1950s Italian Brass Table Lamp with Spherical Opaline Glass Shades

About the Item

This Italian table lamp from the 1950s features a clean, modern design built around a compact, geometric composition. The lamp is structured as a solid brass cylinder rising from a flat circular base, supporting a perfectly spherical opaline glass shade. The upper half of the sphere is capped by a finely made, darkened steel dome, which creates a sharp horizontal line between the metal and the white glass and gives the lamp a graphic, architectural presence both lit and unlit. The brass base shows an attractive, even patina developed over time, adding warmth and depth to the otherwise minimalist design. Recently rewired, the lamp uses a standard E14 bulb, suitable for use in Europe as well as in the United States and Canada with the appropriate bulb and plug. This lamp works well as a bedside or side-table light, providing a soft, diffuse glow while keeping a strong mid-century Italian character.
