20th Century Italian Mable Table Lamp - Vintage Light in the Style of Stilnovo
About the Item
A vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian table or desk lamp made of handcrafted metal and brass, in the style of Stilnovo, in good condition. The three conical mount, perforated black lacquered metal shades are supported by curved brass arms, each is featuring a two-light socket, standing on a round white marble base. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use, circa 1960-1970, Milan, Italy.
Measures: Base 1" height x 9.5" diameter
Shade: 11.25" height
Stilnovo was an Italian lighting and design company founded in 1946 in Milan by the well-known Italian designer Bruno Gatta. During the Mid-Century Modern era the Stilnovo brand was one of the most pioneered lighting design companies in Italy, also known as the Stilnovo Period. Well-known artists have worked and designed for Stilnovo, such as the Italian architect and designer Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Joe Cesare Colombo, etc. To this day, the Stilnovo brand is still a benchmark in the Italian lighting history.
