Art Deco White Cased Glass Column Form Lamp Base
About the Item
A very stylish elegant and tall white cased glass column shaped lamp base, the design probably based on a street light design of the period and dating between 1930 and 1950. The lamp is made in two sections with the lower section modeled as a twelve-sided dodecagon pedestal shaped base with a wider lower body with a brass fitted plate to the base. The base has a rounded top edge narrowing and fitted with a metal ring mount supporting a tall eight-sided octagonal upper section mounted with a brass light fitting. Made in an opaque clear cased white glass the design is relatively simplistic however effective and stylish and would look wonderful in any setting with a matched shade. The lamp base is not marked however has been electrically tested on 25 June 2022 and is electrically safe with a certificate applied to the base.
Provenance: Acquired from the British Art Market.
In fine condition with light wear associated with age and use.
