Carved and Polychromed Antique Table Lamp from Italy

About the Item

This highly carved polychrome urn from the 1700s has been repurposed into a unique table lamp with a cream shade adorned along the rim with banded S-scrolls in black. Three scalloped shells and three volute scrolls, in an alternating fashion, embellish the top of the main body. The shells have been realistically carved in high relief, visually protruding from the other carvings. A floral swag can be seen beneath, surmounting a curled leaf cup. The circular base is adorned with rinceaux and pierced scrolls and a raised molding. A ring of beading encircles the fluted neck, set in between two curled leaves. Our polychrome urn lamp can be used in any room that needs a beautifully carved table lamp, such as a living room, bedroom, or library.
