Collection of Holmegaard Lamps by Per Lütken & Michael Bang Denmark 1970s

About the Item

A set of six Handblown Art glass table lamps by Per Lütken (2) and Michael Bang (4) For Holmegård Glasværk. The two lamps by Per Lütken (1916-1998) are called Cascade and are considered very rare. These two lamps have the colors of pink, turquoise and brown in the glass mix. The other four lamps were designed by Michael Bang (1942-2013). The round with thin metal stem are called Sakura and have the pink and lighter color tone. All four were produced at Fyens Glasværk for Holmegaard Glasværk, when Holmegaard production still had production in Denmark in the early 1980s. The 6 lamps are made in opaline glass with colored fluxes that melt during processing and form unpredictable patterns and then covered in crystal glass. Cascade was conceived as a reaction to the "perfect" uniform glass, but this technique was too expensive and cumbersome for large-scale production, which is why they are very few in circulation. Condition good US compatible but adapter required for plug. The individual measurements are (height to top of socket), from left to right: Smaller Per Lütken measures 17cm in diameter and 38cm in height Larger Turquoise Michael Bang measures 16cm in diameter and 37cm in height Per Lütken measures 21cm in diameter and 40cm in height Light grey Michael Bang measures 25cm in diameter and 40cm in height Small Sakura measures 17cm in diameter and 31cm in height Large Sakura measures 23cm in diameter and 42cm in height.
