About the Item
A beautiful gem of a table lamp by LA-based Peter Shire, one of only two (2) Americans who participated in the original
1981 Memphis experiment (Michael Graves was the other). The Jewish Museum in NYC recently hosted a Peter Shire retrospective, demonstrating the ongoing beauty and strength of his iconoclastic pieces.
Illuminated by earth-friendly (cool-to-the-touch) PL fluorescents, Laurel baths the room that it is in with soft natural light. Named after the Laurel Canyon, native Angeleno Shire gave it a personal pride of place in its title.
