About the Item

Lento table lamp is designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup in 1967, rare brass desk light in very good vintage condition! A classic midcentury table lamp with an adjustable brass shade featuring white inner coating and the signature dark gray band inside near the bottom, a dark gray lacquered metal arm and a heavy round brass base. When lit, the upper part of the shade gets illuminated from underneath through the narrow space between the upper and lower part of the shade. The shade is adjustable both upwards and downwards (for widening and narrowing the illumination), and rotates almost 90 degrees to the sides, enabling you to direct the light to where it is needed, thus making the applications of this classic beauty numerous. Originally produced in three variations, copper, brass and aluminum. Two years later Jo Hammerborg and Fog & Mørup introduced The White Line, featuring the Lento, all in white. The White Line was an opposition to the slightly earlier Rainbow Line by Fog & Mørup and Young Line by Louis Poulsen (which both featured existing designs in new bright colors). This Lento I have for sale is the original brass version and it is in very good vintage condition with few normal signs of usage and age (seen in the photos), nothing you would not expect on a 50+ years old table lamp. Please see the photos! All original with 1.6 m (5' 3") plastic cord, original on/off switch placed at convenient height at the cord and Euro style 2-pin plug - which is easily changed to your specific plug. Tested and fully functional. Cleaned, labeled and packed in protective bag. Light source: One bulb, Edison screw-fitting (E27/E26) Max 60 Watt.
