Line Vautrin School Talosel and Mirror Table Lamp or Sconce
About the Item
This rare Talosel and mirror table lamp or sconce was executed by one of the students of Line Vautrin (1913 - 1977) in the 1960s. This marvelous table lamp features pearlized yellow resin ornate with a decoration band of small pieces of mirrored glass and Talosel or resin. The little colored mirrors are in shades of color ranging from oyster to rust. This lamp has other possible uses since it can also be a wall sconce. A hook is present at the back to hang it.
After the great success of her jewelry and home design creations, Line Vautrin decided in the late 1960s to focus on education. She inaugurated a new cycle of her life, employed to the educational experience, introducing students to the handling and processing of resin, bronze, and mirrors. This lovely table lamp is the work of one of her students under her supervision. There is a visible monogram signature at the back.
The lamp is in excellent working condition, with the original bayonet socket and electricity wire. The switch and the plug have been changed to fit US standards.
The overall condition is good, with minor mirror cracks in the making process. Some wear on the resin lamp as well.
Measurements: 6.32 in wide (16 cm) x 5.13 in deep (13 cm) x 8.69 in high (22 cm).
