Marius-Ernest Sabino Art Deco Table Lamp, Frosted Glass & Bronze

About the Item

This exquisite French Art Deco table lamp was created by Marius-Ernest Sabino in Paris, France, during the 1920s. Combining sculptural elegance with atmospheric lighting, it features a wide frosted molded-glass shade resting on a refined nickel-plated bronze base. Its balanced proportions, geometric structure, and softly diffused light perfectly express the sophisticated modernism of the French Art Deco period. The substantial glass shade displays the luminous, opalescent quality for which Sabino became internationally celebrated. When illuminated, the frosted glass produces a warm, gentle glow while highlighting the molded decoration and subtle variations within the material. The contrast between the softly textured glass and the polished nickel-plated bronze gives the lamp a distinctly luxurious Parisian character. The shade is signed “Sabino 4678 B,” confirming its authenticity and identifying the original model number. This rare period lamp would make an elegant addition to a refined living room, bedroom, library, office, or sophisticated contemporary interior. It will appeal particularly to collectors of authentic French Art Deco lighting, Sabino glass, and early 20th-century decorative arts. Marius-Ernest Sabino was born in Sicily in 1878 and established his career in Paris, where he became one of the leading glass designers of the Art Deco era. During the 1920s and 1930s, his workshop produced opalescent glass lighting, architectural elements, sculptures, and decorative objects. His distinctive glass was admired for its exceptional luminosity and its ability to reflect subtle blue, silver, and golden tones. The lamp is delivered fully rewired for use in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, and other countries. It is compatible with LED bulbs. Dimensions: Height 9.1 in. (23 cm); Diameter 8.7 in. (22 cm).
