About the Item
Totem Lamps includes a set of three lamps of three sizes (8"Dx25"H, 9"Dx24"H, and 8"Dx18"H). All three lamps are crafted from maple, finished and formed to create interior shells with soft greens and blues colored light that peeks through holes.
Artist Statement:
Nate Hill is an artist and librarian who lives in Yorktown Heights, NY. He has an undergraduate degree in studio art from Skidmore College, a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from Pratt Institute, and was an affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University.
Throughout Nate’s career he has made art that explores natural forms at different scales, from microscopic to universal. His current work focuses on biodiversity, the climate crisis, and positive futures that might be achieved through close observation of complex natural ecosystems and speculative designs.
