Pair of 1930s Bronze and Crystal Lamps from Prince De Galles Hotel
About the Item
This one is the last pair and probably the most beautiful one...
This pair of comes from a set of 26 lamps (13 pairs) from the Prince de Galles Hotel in Paris, France. The lamp bodies are in gilt bronze and the stems are beaded in crystal. These were formerly the table lamps in the hotel rooms.
These are the only table lamps left from this hotel; we also purchased all of the desk lamps, the sconces and the floor lamps from the same period and hotel.
The lamp shades are cubic and in custom made silk. Wired for U.S.

The lever on the side lifts up to adjust the angle of the lamp. At the base of the lamp is a bronze plaque monogrammed with the hotel's name, which covers a small ashtray. The plaque also served as a paperweight or one could place it on top of a letter as notice for the hotel to mail. All lamps are re-wired for U.S. outlets.
