Pair of French 19th Louis XVI St. Marble and Ormolu Lamps
About the Item
A pair of French 19th Louis XVI st. White Carrara marble and ormolu electrified candelabra lamps, after a model by Pierre Gouthière. Each lamp is raised by ormolu topie shaped feet below a circular marble base. Above is an ormolu tripod with hoof feet adorned with floral garlands ad foliate reserves at the top, centered by an ormolu fut with swirled serpent. The fluted marble urn has a laurel wreath neck with keyhole designs above. Four impressive C scrolled arms are decorated with fine foliate designs ending in floral bobeches.
