Pair of Murano Pink Barbini Glass Lamps
About the Item
A pair of Mid Century Murano glass lamps by Alfredo Barbini. Beautiful opalescent cotton candy pink color. Hand-blown swirled ribbed glass with controlled bubbles. Original alabaster capital and stem and stacked marble bases, each lamp slightly different, one is whiter. Rewired with new brass sockets. One lamp has small repair to alabaster. It is unusual to find a matched pair with the original fittings intact. Circa 1950s. We have a selection of Murano glass lamps. Please see other listings. Shades are NOT included but for reference the shades shown measure 10"H x 10"T x 14"B

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
