Russian Neoclassical Bronze and Leather Urn-Form Peacock Lamp
About the Item
Neoclassical style table lamp in the form of a leather clad urn with bronze peacocks on either side joined by a decorative rope border with circular bosses in the center. The base with acanthus leaf decoration and paw feet.
I've seen many lamps in my three plus decades in the antiques business but never one quite like this. The leather covering with its craquelure surface is as effective as it is unusual. Russian or Baltic circa 1900.
Newly rewired.
Measures: 27 inches high overall, 7.5 wide 7.5 deep. Urn 15 inches high, base 6.25 square.
