19th Century Nutwood Cheval Mirror Early Biedermeier Period, Austria, circa 1825
About the Item
Gorgeous large 19th century nutwood Cheval mirror from the early Biedermeier era circa 1825 in Vienna/ Austria, one of the world's epicenter of this famous period. Impressing with its dreamlike original condition - only the facet-cut mirror had to be renewed during restoration - the large deeply grooved frame floats between two artfully carved solid nut wood pillars, connected by two carved staffs. So you be able to adjust the mirror easily to every needed angle. The beautiful nut wood veneered surface shows a traditional hand polished shellac finish. With an already installed mounting bracket on the backside this lovely Biedermeier Cheval mirror can also be used as large wall mirror.
