Monumental Spanish Revival hand-forged iron full-length body mirror
About the Item
A custom monumental hand-forged iron mirror with industrial and brutalist attributes by designer Michael Smith. Giant - and heavy. Fully unique; this piece was made specially for a member of the Belushi family and comes from his estate. Note the Murray’s Iron Works label in the photos. An industrial tour de force with game of thrones sensibilities and a dash of gothic aesthetic, calling to mind the great iron pieces of the 1970s Spanish mission revival period. A small crack in top left of mirror plate (again, shown in photos); otherwise fabulous condition with glorious patination throughout. The mirror can be oriented vertically or horizontally, and is manufactured with an “iron-clad” wooden frame on the back to preserve structural soundness. Very well-made and very heavy. Truly the body mirror to end all body mirrors. Pick up in central west Los Angeles or worldwide delivery options available.
